No Terror in The Bang crafts an intense and contrasting musical universe at the crossroads of progressive metal and cinematic score. Weaving a sonic chiaroscuro between fragility and fury, the band creates a constant tension—both visceral and emotional—where each track becomes a journey through light and shadow.

The band’s name refers to a quote by Alfred Hitchcock: “There is no terror in the bang, only in the anticipation of it.”—a perfect reflection of the suspenseful, narrative-driven nature of their music.

Following their acclaimed debut album Eclosion, known for its fusion of raw metal energy with refined orchestral textures, No Terror in The Bang released their second opus, Heal, in January 2024 (Klonosphere / Season of Mist). More direct, more visceral, this new release delivers powerful and emotionally charged tracks, shaped like self-contained cinematic worlds.

Frontwoman Sofia masterfully embodies multiple personas, switching between clean vocals and harsh screams with striking emotional range. Each song reveals a distinct atmosphere—where modern metal meets the language of dark film scores, filled with suspense and climaxes.

The band is led by Alexis Damien (drums, composition, artistic direction, former Pin-up went down, former live drummer of Carnival in coal), along with Etienne Cochin (guitar, composition), Clément Bernard (guitar), and Brice Bouchard (bass). As of 2025, the live lineup is streamlined into a five or four-piece, while Romain Greffe (keyboards), stepping away from the stage, continues to contribute as a co-composer on an upcoming orchestral EP, scheduled for early 2026.

Winners of the FAIR 2023, No Terror in The Bang has performed on numerous stages and festivals: Le Normandy (supporting Rise of the Northstar), Chien à Plumes, Chauffer dans la Noirceur, Rock in Évreux, among others. They’ve shared the bill with Mass Hysteria (Le 106), La Boule Noire, and were invited to the PowerProg Europe Festival (Netherlands).

The album Heal was named Album of the Month by legendary French magazine Rock Hard and received enthusiastic press coverage, including a review and interview in the international reference Metal Hammer. The release was accompanied by the music video Monster, directed by Les Maan Prod.
